When it comes to make a diy stencil, toilet paper roll or kitchen towel roll is my go to. It is such a versatile recyclable material that can be moulded into any shape.

Honestly my toddler loves painting but he just doesn’t follow the lines. He kind of loves abstract painting.

So in this one I’ve used the tp roll as a stencil to guide the toddlers to paint.

What we need?

  • Tp roll or Kitchen Towel Roll
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Hard cardstock paper
  • Paints
  • Paint brush

Let’s Make it

Step 1: Cut out a circle from the toilet paper roll or kitchen towel roll.

Next, flatten the toilet paper roll and cut out into strips. These are the petals. We made 6 of them.

Step 2: Stick these cut outs to form a flower on the hard cardstock paper.

Make sure to use a Temporary glue so that it does not pull out the paper when removed

Step 3: Next allow your toddler to paint inside each toilet paper roll cut out.

I was so surprised my toddler actually enjoyed painting inside the tp roll cut outs.

Step 4: Finally remove the stencils, add a stem and you have got your toddler’s painting ready.

Learning Outcome

  • Enhances Creativity
  • Increases Focus
